Every client who comes into our facility undergoes a number of initial assessments to help us understand what they are struggling with and how severe their struggle may be.
The reality is that most of the children who come to us are resistant to the idea of being treated and they certainly don’t want to be in rehab. The truth is that if they don’t want to be treated, if they don’t want to allow change to happen, it never will. A big part of our initial contact with every client is helping them see that we want to help them work toward that change, and that everything we do is ultimately done with the goal of helping them.
We do not operate a medical-detox facility, however, most teens are extremely residual and will undergo a medical evaluation as to their withdrawal symptoms. Our physician, or nurse practitioner will evaluate the symptomology and make a decision if the teen can overcome his/her potential withdrawal with medication and medical oversight, or if a hospital or medical facility is warranted. Each child admitted to our program undergoes this evaluation, and will remain under close observation
Absolutely! We believe that for most people substance abuse is most likely a symptom of some other issue or set of issues they have been trying to deal with on their own. We work to help them uncover those underlying issues. We also work with individuals who do not have substance abuse issues, but need a more intense level of help for their emotional or behavioral struggles.
Yes. We work with each child (and their loved ones) individually to find out their specific needs. While most folks who come to work with us are likely seeking similar outcomes (sobriety / abstinence from drug use), the path to get them there needs to address the unique set of circumstances that got them where they are
When admitting to our program, all clients undergo an evaluation by a physician who helps decide what medications, if any, are necessary and prescribes them accordingly. With parent/ guardian approval, we will allow access to over-the-counter pain medication to be used as directed on the label.
